Please verify your major is correct on SSB….
Per Federal regulations, classes must be in your declared major in order to be eligible for Federal funds. Also per Terms & Conditions listed on SSB and on the College website, your Financial Aid award may be reduced accordingly if you are enrolled for classes not required for your declared major.
Please verify your major is correct on SSB (Financial Aid/Financial Aid Status/click on Academic Transcript/select Unofficial Web Transcript/click on Submit/current major shows at the top). Only register for classes that are required for your major. It is always recommended that you talk to the advisor for your program of study prior to registering for classes. Also anytime you change your major, it must be updated in the Records office. Thank you.
Please keep in mind that academic bankruptcy and course forgiveness apply only to the collegiate GPA. It does not affect your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for financial aid purposes. Bankrupted and forgiven classes count in the calculation of the financial aid GPA, thereby impacting your SAP. In essence, if/when you request and are granted academic bankruptcy and/or course forgiveness through Records, it will not help your financial aid GPA.
